Thirty-four participants, featuring 12 lotteries from across Europe, gathered to share ideas and collaborate on new game development at IGT’s 11th annual International Instants 360° Workshop in London. The intensive workshop sessions took place over three days, October 22-24, kicking off with informative visits to lottery retailers throughout the city, graciously organized by Camelot.

The event provided personnel from diverse jurisdictions with an opportunity to spend the first full day in close conversation and idea sharing. Each lottery presented a brief overview of its instants business from the past year, including sales figures, market share, benchmarks, and trends. Additionally, Lotteries highlighted their successes and challenges, any innovations they developed, and the discoveries made along the way. This flexible format generated much interesting conversation and allowed participants to share important lessons learned.

Question-and-answer sessions following each lottery’s presentation set the tone for an extremely collaborative environment that continued with a half-day dedicated to an IGT Brainstorming Innovative Games (BIG) session. A staple of the annual Workshop, IGT’s BIG sessions are designed to help lotteries generate revenue-driving ideas ranging from new game designs and themes to unique play actions, ways to extend a traditional printed product into other channels, and more. Participants engaged with one another in smaller groups to tackle challenges facing lotteries across jurisdictional borders, resulting in several new ideas to be developed into concepts for new games and play styles.

On the third day of the event, attendees participated in further lottery presentations, Q&A sessions, and a competition to choose the best examples among the print, television, and digital ads contributed by the attendees, which were on display for the duration of the Workshop. The event culminated in an award ceremony recognizing the top three examples in each of three categories—Print Ads, TV/Digital Ads, and BIG ideas. After some final words from the IGT International Sales team, participants departed with many new insights to bring back to their organizations.

Now running for more than a decade, the annual Instants 360° Workshop has become a must-attend event for IGT’s international instants customers.
