Beginning July 1, Cash4Life will become a daily game, expanding from its current twice-a-week format. Lottery players in the nine participating states, where the game is currently sold, will have the chance to win prizes—including the top prize of $1,000 a day for life – seven days a week, 365 days a year.
“Winning $1,000 a day for the rest of your life is a prize that easily captures the imagination,” said Gordon Medenica, Lead Director of the Cash4Life Consortium and Director of the Maryland Lottery. “Cash4Life is not only a fun addition to the current lineup of daily lottery games, it’s also especially appealing to younger adults who relish the idea of winning for life!”
Since the game began in June 2014, there have been 32 top-tier winners and 73 second-tier winners.To win the top prize, players must match five numbers, selected from a range of 1-60 and the Cash Ball number, selected from a range of 1-4. To win the second prize of $1,000 a week for life, players must match the first five numbers. In addition to the two top prizes, there are seven other prize tiers ranging from $2,500 to $2. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 8. Each line of six numbers costs $2.

Cash4Life began in New Jersey and New York in June of 2014. Between April of 2016 and February of 2017, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Virginia joined the game. Since its inception, Cash4Life drawings have been held in New Jersey at 9 p.m. each Monday and Thursday evening.
