Playing as a group is a popular and fun way for customers to play the lottery. By pooling a greater number of selections, players have greater chances of winning a prize.
Following the launches of Formule groupe (i.e. Group Play) and Formule groupe en ligne (i.e. Group Play Online), Loto-Québec has now added a new way to play as a group: Formule super groupe (FSG).
FSG allows players to buy one or more shares in a group containing anywhere from 21 to 100 shares. The selections from all shares within the group are pooled. The groups are created by Loto-Québec and group tickets are sold at all retail locations. Retailers do not have to cover the cost of unsold group shares.
FSG is available with the following lottery games: Lotto Max, Québec Max, Lotto 6/49, Québec 49 and Extra, and only with a quick-pick selection.
“Ever since the pandemic and the new normal of working from home, the number of groups created by customers has decreased, which constitutes a missed sales opportunity. With Formule super groupe, customers can purchase a group ticket at any Québec retail location,” said Martine Dufour, Senior Product Manager, National Games.
Formule super groupe was launched on April 11. A 15-second TV spot, in-store ads, and social media content accompanied the launch of this new way to play as a group.
