Keith Whyte, Executive Director of the National Council on Problem Gaming (NCPG) discussed the new NASPL/NCPG responsible gaming (RG) verification standard.
“It is free of charge to any NASPL member lottery. There are seven standards to go through. It’s a free application process. We’re trialing it right now in Virginia, North Carolina, Oregon and Kentucky,” said Whyte.
By the end of the year, NCPG hopes that there will be 15 more lotteries using the RG standard. Another NCPG program is “iCap,” a set of RG standards for internet sales.
Whyte said the lottery industry is showing enormous leadership in online responsible gaming. IGT, NeoPollard and Michigan Lottery are all iCap-certified. The Georgia and Kentucky lotteries are working on their certification.
