Scientific Games presented “Linked Games: The Creation & Execution.”
Since 2007, Scientific Games has offered linked games for lotteries.
“Scientific Games recognized the need to deliver new experiences to players that go beyond the licensed brand and provide once-in-a-lifetime prizes that connect them with brands in personally relevant and memorable ways. To up the ante, we created a new category of products called Linked Games,” explained Jeff Shoumaker, Regional VP, Scientific Games.
Linked Games are when multiple lotteries launch the same licensed game and all 2nd Chance winners participate in a linked experiential event.
“We’ve had the fortunate opportunity to partner with entertainment industry powerhouses on our previous Linked Game Events/Productions: Endemol, FremantleMedia, Sony Pictures, Pro Football Hall of Fame, Hasbro,” said Shoumaker. “The retail value of Linked Games printed to date is over $2.5 billion.”
Scientific Games’ first Linked Game was introduced in 2007. It allowed lottery winners to play a Non-Broadcast version of Deal or No Deal with Howie Mandel for a chance to win $1 million.
Shoumaker then presented a synoposis on five other Linked Games: The Price Is Right, Wheel of Fortune, Las Vegas Show Experience, MONOPOLY Jackpot and Pro Football Hall of Fame.
What’s next? Scientific Game launched its new WILLY WONKA Golden Ticket™ in 2017. It features the BILLION DOLLAR CHALLENGE™. This grand prize event will be held in Las Vegas.
“It allows us to tap into one of the hottest brands in the casino industry where it is a top 3 slot brand for Scientific Games,” said Shoumaker.
