Heavy traffic temporarily knocked the Austrian Lotteries website offline shortly after the results of Sunday’s Lotto 6 aus 45 drawing were posted, leaving many players unable to check their tickets.
Heute reported that visitors received error messages or could not load the site. The publication said the surge in traffic appeared to overwhelm the website, while the exact cause of the disruption had not been confirmed.
The rush came during the first eightfold jackpot in the game’s 40-year history. Austrian Lotteries later said about 11.3 million bets were placed and a single ticket sold in Styria won 12,050,822.50 euros, the largest Lotto 6 aus 45 prize of 2026 and the second-largest in the game’s history.
