For the next five months, FDJ and LOTO will sponsor five color races in France. Rouen on Friday 2 June, Tours on Sunday 4 June, Calais on Sunday 25 June, Villeneuve-Loubet on Friday, 7 July and Toulouse on Sunday 8 October.
The LOTO brand has never been linked to this type of event before. But with the relaunch of LOTO back in March, FDJ is trying to find new players, specifically younger adults. Millennials are often associated with color races.
Color races are usually 5 to 10 kilometers. At different parts of the race, the runners get a color powder thrown on them. Different colors associate to different lengths. Afterwards, the color race usually ends in a musical festival which all the runners are invited to. The races are fun, unclassified and untimed.
