Illinois Lottery Says State Budget Impasse Cost It Almost $4m in Sales

For about a week, Illinois retailers weren’t able to sell Powerball and Mega Millions lottery tickets, because of the state budget impasse.

Ty Brown, a cashier at Discount Smoke Shop in Champaign, said he noticed a drop in sales for those tickets.
