Ohio Lottery Expands InspiredOH Initiative To Include Once-in-a-Lifetime Prizes

Today, the Ohio Lottery announced the expansion of its InspiredOH initiative, with the opportunity for Ohioans to submit their own stories of inspiration and hope for a chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime grand prize – their story made into a mini-documentary produced by the Ohio Lottery, a prize pack for unique destinations across Ohio, $2,500 in cash prizes, and a personal tour of Progressive Field by all-star shortstop Francisco Lindor.

In June, the Ohio Lottery launched its InspiredOH initiative, an effort to spotlight the stories of hope, positivity and perseverance across the state Ohio. Kicking off the effort, beloved Cleveland Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor shared his personal journey as a young boy in Puerto Rico, to becoming a professional athlete playing for the Cleveland Indians. Through the campaign documentary, Lindor’s fans learned more about the challenges he’s overcome to reach his dreams, and what keeps him smiling on a daily basis.

Now the Ohio Lottery is calling on all Ohioans to share their own inspiring stories and show how they are making positive impacts on their communities.

“The Ohio Lottery has always been in awe of the humble people across the state who work tirelessly to make the world a better place – and never expect anything in return,” said Sandy Lesko Sabbath, Deputy Director, Marketing Communications for the Ohio Lottery. “Through our InspiredOH initiative, we are putting the spotlight on these individuals and celebrating their acts of kindness, big and small.”

To show appreciation for the people of Ohio, the Ohio Lottery will select one grand-prize winner from entries submitted on the InspiredOH website (www.inspiredoh.org). The mini-documentary produced for the winner will be featured on the InspiredOH website and Ohio Lottery social properties. The winner, along with a guest, will also meet all-star Lindor and receive a personal tour of Progressive Field, where he made his Major League Baseball debut.

In addition to these unique experiences, the winner will receive $2,500 cash and a prize pack that includes:

    $500 gas gift card
Two-night hotel stay (up to $300)
Four field box tickets to a 2018 Indians game
Four day passes to Cedar Point
Four tickets (general admission) to the Cincinnati Zoo
Four tickets (general admission) to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum
Four tickets (general admission) to the Cincinnati Aquarium
Four tickets (general admission) to the Center of Science and Industry (COSI) in Columbus
$300 gift card to a local spa
To be eligible, Ohioans must visit the InspiredOH website to submit an Ohio-centric story of inspiration through text, photos or even a short video. Once the submission has been approved, the story will be featured on the InspiredOH website within its gallery section.

Submissions will be judged on a series of criteria including storytelling and originality. All eligible participants who submit an approved entry will receive a free InspiredOH shirt.* The submission period closes October 10, 2017, and the winner will be announced by November 1, 2017.
