Six gaming expansion bills have been approved by The Connecticut Legislature’s Public Safety and Security Committee on Tuesday that would create a competitive bidding process for a casino, help the Pequot and Mohegan tribes’ casino plan, legalize sports betting, allow for iLottery and create a gaming commission.
Both sports betting and online lottery won by smaller margins. There are two different legal sports betting paths the state could take: one that would allow for only the tribes to offer sports betting, the other would allow for both the tribes and other gaming operators, which would include the Connecticut Lottery.
