Representative Ryan Lynch proposed a new bill that would make the Montana Lottery the sole sports betting operator in the state. The bill would allow for land-based (both traditional lottery retailers and kiosks in bars and restaurants), internet and mobile wagering. All traditional forms of wagering, like single-game bets, parlays, money lines, etc. would be allowed. Montana was one of the states that was allowed to have sports betting before the repeal of PASPA by the Supreme Court in 2018. The lottery currently offers a sports fantasy game.
Last week, another bill legalizing sports betting was offered that would give licenses to established gambling facilities.
