NACS, CGIS File Amicus Briefs Supporting DOJ Wire Act Opinon

The National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) and the Coalition to Stop Internet Gambling (CSIG) have filed amicus briefs supporting the reinterpretation of the Wire Act. CGIS is funded by Sheldon Adelson and the Las Vegas Sands casino Company. It has been alleged that Adelson has played some role in the DOJ’s unusual change in stance. NACS has historically been against online sale of lottery tickets for fear it would hurt their terrestrial members.  Their briefs echoed the arguments found in the DOJ’s case to dismiss the New Hampshire Lottery suit.
