After a man won a $768 million Powerball prize, Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos has introduced a plan to prevent the dissemination of information regarding on winners. Like many of the bills across the country, the intent is to protect the privacy and security of winners.
Unlike many of the bills however, the Wisconsin legislation seems to prevent the lottery from using winner information even for small prize winners. In contrast, the Virginia Lottery prevents disclosing the identity of a winner of a $10 million prize or greater.
