The Ohio Lottery has issued a request for proposals from vendors interested in providing an integrated iLottery system for the State. Inquiries may be submitted through August 7 and responses are due to the agency no later than August 27.
iLottery allows customers to purchase lottery games using the Lottery’s website or mobile app. As consumer purchasing trends continue to grow in the virtual world, iLottery represents another channel for the Ohio Lottery to reach new customers to purchase lottery products.
Ohio Lottery officials hope to expand their profits, which in Ohio are used to fund K-12 education, by $100 million annually once the program has been up and running for five years, using Michigan as a comparison. Lottery officials estimate it will make closer to $45 million during its early years.
