Arizona Lottery Expects All “Gnome for the Holidays”

Arizona Lottery is offering a wide range of scratch tickets.

The Arizona Lottery is certain all will be Gnome for the Holidays and feel Holiday Cheer with the prizes coming out of Santa’s Gift Bag. Players can look forward to 25 Days of Winning in the Arizona Gold 2020 holiday program.La Fleur's Magazine will feature a holiday scratch roundup.

It’s impossible to choose which holiday scratcher which will be the fav of Santa, the gnomes or lottery players.

“We are excited about our 2020 holiday lineup of games,” said Chris Rogers, Deputy Director, Marketing and Products. “Our ‘Santa’s Gift Bag’ ($5) tickets are real showstoppers. They are sparkly and chock full of presents and holiday treats. Instead of creating a new $20 holiday Scratcher ticket, we took key learnings from other states and transitioned our Arizona Gold ($20) right into the holiday campaign. We are also bringing back the successful ‘25 Days of Winning’ ($10) ticket, that is an Advent Calendar-styled game, sold at all Arizona Lottery retailers, including Arizona Costco stores. Add to these our $3 ‘Christmas Crossword,’ our $2 ‘Gnome for the Holidays’ and our $1 ‘Holiday Cheer’ tickets, and you see a cohesive product line-up that we hope will perform well.”

The Arizona Lottery’s holiday scratcher advertising campaign slogan this year is, “Give the Gift of Joy.” It will certainly be a joy to watch. (Ad agency: OH Partners)

“We are supporting the campaign this year with a slate of highly-produced and visually stunning television commercials (click HERE), directed by award winning director Maya Albanese. Ms. Albanse’s work has been recognized by the Directors Guild of America, Shoot Magazine, AdAge, AdWeek, AdLand, Shoot Mag. Her in-tune and hands-on casting was critical in sourcing local talent, making these truly ‘Arizona’ Lottery commercials that will warm hearts and spur our holiday sales,” said Rogers.

The lottery reports that “none of our holiday instant game marketing efforts have been directly influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic, nor by the ways in which it has changed the Lottery retail paradigm.”

Still the lottery will engage more players online through its relaunched players club platform. Rogers said the lottery created several popular second chance and free play promotions:

    ● Ho Ho Dough – Five $5,000 winners drawn monthly

    ● Jingle Cash – 40 winners of $250

    ● White Elephant Free Play Digital Game – Free fun for players to earn up to 100 loyalty points per play.”

“Historically, December 25th has been our highest volume entry day and we are preparing for that by double checking the codes and software, as well as our bandwidth for accepting online entries,” said Rogers.

The lottery will tape its Third Annual Holiday Livestream in advance. (The 2nd Annual Windfall Willie’s Holiday Party featured a four-hour epic livestream.) Guests will join virtually or come in for a 1-on-1 studio taping prior to the show. “The show will still appear to be airing live, with our social team interacting in real time,” said Rogers. “This year’s beneficiary is the Central Arizona Shelter System (CASS), which has been battling the spread of COVID-19 among the homeless population while continuing to house and feed them under new social distancing guidelines and increased hygiene requirements. Health and human services are core Arizona Lottery beneficiaries; in addition to funds being allocated to CASS, we’ll be donating a dollar’s worth of personal care and hygiene items for each unique livestream view.”
