An industry expert believes Nevada policymakers can successfully establish a lottery allowing ticket sales at local stores. Scott Gunn, from IGT, expressed confidence in the process, which could take until 2026. Nevada recently made progress in creating a lottery, with a proposed constitutional amendment passing through the Assembly and Senate. However, it must go through another legislative session before a general election vote in 2026.
Greentube USA, a subsidiary of Novomatic’s digital gaming division, has unveiled its new iLottery game called Drop The Balls. The game combines elements of pinball, pachinko, and bagatelle to create a unique gaming experience aimed at a broader audience. Greentube USA partnered with EQL’s RGS aggregation platform. The DC Lottery will be the first to offer Drop The Balls. The game allows players to drop balls onto a playfield with obstacles and multiplier catchers, offering various targets and bonus features for an exciting experience.
Paul Dervan, the current chief marketing officer (CMO) of the National Lottery, has resigned from his position. Dervan, who was appointed three years ago, oversaw all marketing activities, including brand development and effectiveness. He was named Marketer of the Year for his work in rebranding the National Lottery. Maebh Gleeson, the head of brand at the National Lottery, will serve as the acting CMO starting in September.
FDJ has announced the launch of the sixth edition of its “Mission Patrimoine” games, which will contribute to the funding of the Mission for endangered heritage. The games will be available from September 4 and will include Loto draws dedicated to the Mission Patrimoine system, as well as a Super Loto draw. Additionally, a scratch game called illiko Mission Patrimoine will be offered. Since 2018, over €125 million has been collected to support heritage projects, and the funds from these games will aid in restoring selected sites.
The UK Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP) and the British Code of Advertising Practice (BCAP) have made technical updates to lottery advertising rules. The changes specifically address the inclusion of individuals who are or appear to be under the age of 25. The regulators state that these updates will not impact current advertising policies and practices but aim to provide clearer rules for Code users. Previous changes in 2020 allowed lotteries supporting youth causes to include individuals under 25 in limited circumstances. Concerns over the interpretation of the rules prompted these alterations. The revised language clarifies the restrictions and applies to both individuals under 25 and those who appear to be under 25. The amendments are effective immediately.

The Arts Council of Northern Ireland is inviting applications for the National Lottery Major Individuals Awards (SIAP) 2023/24. This opportunity provides four awards of up to £15,000 each for established artists to develop ambitious work. Eligibility criteria include national or international recognition, previous non-receipt of a major award, a minimum one-year contribution to artistic activities in Northern Ireland within the last five years, residency in Northern Ireland, and age of 18 or above. The awards cover various costs related to the project.
