Loto-Québec has launched its first lottery ticket that gives back: Loto-o-suivant. It’s a scratch ticket that makes you feel good! Wouldn’t it be great to win $10,000 and have the same amount donated to a Québec organization of your choice?
What you should know:
• The cost of the ticket is $2.
• The launch took place on October 11, 2021.
• The “100 $ + tirage” prize allows you to enter the draw for 50 guaranteed prizes of $10,000 for the winner and $10,000 for the organization of their choice.
• The draw will be held on November 30, 2021, on the national day of giving, Giving Tuesday.
• Winners will be able to choose their charity from the many Québec organizations on the CanadaHelps.org site.
• A total of $500,000 will be donated to Québec charities.
• The game is also available in the Instants section of lotoquebec.com or via the Lotteries app.
“After more than 18 months where everyone had to face many challenges, we wanted to offer a game with a charitable component. The Loto-o-suivant lottery ticket makes people feel good by supporting Québec charities. Let’s just say that $2 can go a long way,” said Catherine Dumont, Product Manager at Loto-Québec’s Présidence des opérations – Loteries (POL).
“The advertising campaign will take place mostly online and on social media. Since this is the first time Loto-Québec has launched a scratch ticket that gives back to charities and since the visuals of the tickets are very inspiring, we decided to focus on the tickets themselves as well as on the concept ‘If you win $10,000, your cause also wins $10,000.’ We also wanted to highlight the winners and their charity of choice following the draw for the 50 guaranteed prizes,” said Zoé Doucet-Boudreau, Senior Project Manager – Integrated Marketing Communications at Loto-Québec’s POL.
“On social media, it was important for us to be able to start a dialogue with our subscribers, including asking them what charities they would choose if they won the $10,000 prize. Visuals inspired by the tickets will accompany these posts,” said Maude Daoust, Social Media Project Manager at Loto-Québec’s POL.
And that’s not all: the Société des casinos du Québec (SCQ) and its customers are joining forces to support Québec’s Moisson food banks through the Promo-o-suivant (Play to Give promotion). This promotion will take place in November at the casinos and gaming halls as well as online. More than $250 000 in prizes will be giving away, with the equivalent amount going to Moisson partner organizations.
“Québec casinos have supported Moisson food banks for a number of years. It was only fitting to include them in the Promo-o-suivant promotion. I’m very proud that this initiative will raise awareness about food security,” said Kevin Taylor, President of the SCQ.
The charitable component of Loto-o-suivant and the Promo-o-suivant promotion is in line with one of the strategies of the 2021–2023 Loto-Québec Corporate Social Responsibility Plan, which is to continue our approach of solidarity with the community.
