This ends La Fleur’s Magazine 4-day Holiday Roundup. We hope you and your family can enjoy time together over the long holiday weekend. To recall one of our favorite holiday slogans:
Send some instant Joy!
And don’t forget:
Be a little ELF-ISH!
Atlantic Lottery Corp. (ALC) believes its big hit this season will be its $25 Holiday Pack. Players get five games to play, and a guaranteed winner of $10 or more. Players also get a $2 promo code to play on alc.ca. The Holiday Pack released on October 13th, along with $10 Merry and Bright. “The campaign features three messages with the focus remaining on the guaranteed win of $10 or more in every pack,” Brigitte Bourque, Product Manager, Scratch, said.
Lotto New Zealand reported its most consistent Christmas seller is the $5 Christmas Crossword. “Crosswords are our most popular games year round, and we see this increase over the Christmas period when players have more time to sit down and relax over the holidays,” Callum Searle, Senior Product Manager, said. The lottery’s in-house design team designed all three holiday tickets, including its Christmas hero ticket $5 Cashmas Tree.
The Louisiana Lottery Corp. expects all three of their holiday games to be successful. The marketing campaign’s focal point will revolve around the $2 Ornament Game. “We plan to use the ‘Have a Ball This Holiday’ slogan on a holiday-themed specialty item to use for radio call-in and social media promotional prizes with entrants describing their favorite ornament and why. We have found our players enjoy sharing nostalgic stories as part of our promotions and the user-generated content is extremely engaging in support of our brand,” Susan Clayton, Products Director, said.
The Colorado Lottery launched five holiday-themed tickets this season, but expects the $10 Holiday Delight to be the most popular. “For the first time since the Colorado Lottery began, the $10 price point has become our strongest selling category, and we feel this game will continue that trend,” Todd Greco, Scratch Product Manager, said. Tickets launched the third week of October. The lottery will also launch TV advertising in early November and radio spots in December, which emphasize how scratch games make great last minute gifts. “This is the Lottery’s biggest marketing campaign each year, and basically lasts more than two months,” Greco continued. Colorado Lottery’s holiday advertising will feature two tag lines—“Earn Your Spot on the Nice List” and “Give Scratcher–Give Joy.”
The Kansas Lottery launched the Perfect Gift Family on October 4, which includes a $1, $2, $5, and $10 ticket. “In 2020, the $10 holiday ticket set the pace and outperformed the others to sell out in record time. We anticipate the same results for this year as holiday games have been a rapidly growing segment. All of the tickets are eligible for entry into PlayOn, our player loyalty program, and non-winning tickets receive entries into a second-chance drawing for up to $10,000 in bonus cash,” Judy Bradley, Instant Product Development Manager, said.
Loterie Nationale in Belgium has launched the Winter Magic Family at €2, €5 and €10 price points. “The unique difference with other years is that each ticket of this family doesn’t have only a top prize, but also a total of 500 winners of €2,022!” Wim Schoolmeesters, Senior Manager Product Development, said.
The Illinois Lottery launched five October holiday games at the $1, $2, $3, $10, and $20; then it will launch two winter and one more holiday game in November. The $5 Full of $500s will be a ClearPlay game. “This game will be pulsed with the first third of the game being ‘Holiday Edition,’ which will feature stacks of money wrapped in bows and a ‘To:/From:’ spot,” Mike Elwood, Instants Product Manager, Camelot Illinois said. The lottery is bringing on a chain of big box retailers during the week of Thanksgiving. Illinois Lottery will be giving away coupons for free Lucky Day Lotto tickets and will be using a gifting message for instant tickets during the trial.
We’ll end with a favorite poem rewritten by my cat (Henry) and puppy (Parker):
You better watch out
You better not cry
You better not pout
I’m telling you why
Santa Claws is coming to town
He’s making a list
He’s checking it twice
He’s gonna find out who’s naughty or nice
Santa Paws is coming to town!
