La Fleur’s Magazine’s new series—Quote of the Week—features interviews with lottery directors about what’s ahead for their organizations. We will feature a different director each week. This week we are spotlighting Cindy Polzin, Director, Wisconsin Lottery.

What’s ahead for your lottery in FY23?

“The Wisconsin Lottery is not going to let any moss grow! With my Sales Director and Deputy retiring a few months back, we decided it was time to do a re-org of Lottery. With the new structure in effect, we focused on hiring the rest of the team in short order.

We have some exciting plans and launches in the works for FY23. Being the country music fan that I am and more importantly research indicating Lottery players like country music, I’m thrilled the Wisconsin Lottery will be the first one to launch the Living Lucky with Luke Combs scratch ticket at one of our country music festivals. Building off of a very successful scratch line, we will likely be launching our first $50 instant scratch ticket very early in the fiscal year.  Fast Play has been top of mind for a while. My team is doing a deep dive into what that may look like in Wisconsin. Later in FY23, the team is researching launching the first ever Limited Time Offer for our Midday Draw games. Finally, we are spending significant time reviewing and revamping our current Pull-Tab program.”

What book are you currently reading?

“Washington: A Life by Ron Chernow. My goal is to read a biography or autobiography of every US President.  Figured I’d start at the beginning.”

Where do you plan to vacation in the next six months?

“Anybody want to go to Oktoberfest in Munich? It’s back. Prost!”
