In his La Fleur’s Magazine interview about FY23 developments, Greg Smith, President & CEO of Connecticut Lottery Corporation, detailed the fast pace required for the launch of iLottery, the continued rollout of sports wagering, and a system conversion.

“2023 will be a busy and exciting year for the CT Lottery.  Next Spring, we are going through a gaming system conversion. We are thrilled to be modernizing and upgrading the lottery experience for our staff, Retailers and for our players. We will also be introducing iLottery to continue on our path of modernization and generating revenue for good causes in Connecticut. Additionally, we will be moving our headquarters in 2023, so a lot going on, but we are well-prepared and up for the challenge,” said Smith.

The major retail development is the switchover. “Our focus at retail will of course be conversion for the first half of 2023 and insuring a smooth transition for our retail partners. Once we get through conversion, we will turn our focus to other initiatives that we had to defer until after conversion,” said Smith.

Due to the system conversion, CT Lottery will also not launch any new draw games in FY23. “However, we are currently looking into draw game enhancements and new offerings for down the road,” said Smith.

The lottery is also completing its year-long anniversary celebration. “2022 marked our 50th year and we had a big push to celebrate that milestone. Our 50th Anniversary scratch ticket family featured our first 2nd Chance games on our new platform. We are expanding our 2nd Chance offerings to many per year with prizes geared toward increasing engagement and sales. We also introduced Digital Menu Boards as a pilot test in 2022 as a way to modernize our retail presence and enhance the consumer experience,” ended Smith.
