In his La Fleur’s Magazine interview about FY23 developments, Jeff Hewitt, President of Mississippi Lottery Corporation, said the focus is on expanding the lottery game portfolio.
“Our marketing efforts will continue to focus on both our instant products and draw game launches,” said Hewitt. “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve will be featured in the fall and we will have nearly a dozen second chance drawings just before the Christmas season.”
The Mississippi Lottery followed up its Summer of Fun promotion with a winter 2022 cash promotion as well a spring 2023 cash promotion.
The draw game portfolio will grow in FY23. “We launched our twice a day Cash 3 and Cash 4 games adding the Fireball option in July. CASH POP was introduced in November,” said Hewitt. He added the lottery is excited about CASH POP as it will be a great addition to the Lottery’s daily cash games.
In terms of FY23 scratch game initiatives, Hewitt mentioned the possibility of “a $1,000,000 annuity instant game along with some licensed property instant games will be introduced into our instant product line up.”
On the retail front, Hewitt reported the Lottery will have 87 Walmart Super Centers, Fuel Stations and Family Markets selling in Mississippi.
In terms of major player improvements, “we are unable to do mobile transactions, however we are looking at a mobile convenience app for our players,” ended Hewitt.
