Österreichische Lotterien, Austrian Lotteries, is overhauling its LottoPlus game on July 8. A single mark on the betting slip will automatically enter a player into two draws per draw day, doubling the number of draw rounds from one tip. The winning pyramid will apply separately to each of the two rounds, the company said. The basic odds remain largely unchanged, with the chance of matching all six numbers in a LottoPlus draw staying at 1 in 8,145,060.
The price of a LottoPlus tip rises from 0.50 euro to 0.80 euro, an increase of 60 percent. Österreichische Lotterien cited higher statutory levies as the reason for the adjustment and said the change is intended to secure the long-term stability of the game. As part of the reform, the payout ratio for LottoPlus falls from 48.8 percent to 45 percent, meaning a slightly smaller share of stakes is returned as winnings. For classic Lotto, the payout ratio edges down from 48.8 percent to 48 percent.
