Spain’s Loterias y Apuestas del Estado put tickets for the 2026 Christmas Lottery on sale July 9, announcing a €2.87 billion prize pool for the December 22 draw. The total is €98 million higher than in 2025. This year’s issue has 205 series, seven more than last year. Each series contains 100,000 ticket numbers, and each number is divided into 10 one-tenth shares known as decimos, creating 205 million decimos. At €20 each, the full issue is valued at €4.1 billion, with 70 percent allocated to prizes.
The top prize, known as El Gordo, remains €4 million for the full winning number in each series, equal to €400,000 per decimo. The second-prize number pays €1.25 million per full ticket, or €125,000 per decimo, and the third-prize number pays €500,000 per full ticket, or €50,000 per decimo. SELAE President Jesus Huerta also said the physical balls representing prize amounts and ticket numbers will be new for the 2026 draw.
