The Massachusetts Lottery is expanding its retail network through Walmart and Walgreens, Executive Director Mark William Bracken told the Lottery Commission at its Sept. 22 meeting, according to WBUR’s Sept. 23 report. Bracken said more than 50 Walmart stores were joining as lottery agents for the first time in Massachusetts, with machine installations and promotions underway. He also said all Walgreens stores in the state would become lottery agents.
The commission unanimously approved regulations for virtual horse racing. “What we will be offering is a game called Post Time Payout, which is a virtual horse racing game … the winners are picked by random number generator, and instead of showing bouncing balls, they’re shown as racing horses. It has nothing to do with live racing or anything like that,” he said.
The new online game will hopefully launch next month.
