The Virginia Lottery has launched a campaign to help consumers make informed gambling choices, use responsible gaming tools and recognize regulated gaming options, WWBT reported. On the lottery’s role, Executive Director Kevin Hall said, “we feel a responsibility to help people play responsibly.” One part of the campaign highlights the lottery’s online responsible gambling tools.
The campaign also explains the difference between regulated gaming and unregulated options that lack the same protections. Hall said, “Don’t mistake a social media ad or a celebrity endorsement as a seal of approval.” The lottery partners with the Virginia Council on Problem Gambling to connect people with assistance. The council’s helpline is 888-532-3500.
