Brian Bennett Appointed as Director of Washington’s Lottery, Johnston Steps Down

Washington Governor Bob Ferguson has appointed Brian Bennett as the new Director of Washington’s Lottery, succeeding Joshua Johnston, who stepped down after nearly eight years with the organization, including the last three as director. Bennett brings a blend of public and private sector leadership, having served as a vice president in the legal department at global technology firm F5 Inc., following earlier roles as a practicing attorney in Seattle and as a Burien City Council member and mayor. He holds a degree in comparative literature from the University of Washington and a law degree from New York University, and has remained active in civic and nonprofit work in Washington and abroad.
