University of Iceland Lottery Plans 15% Ticket Price Increase and Prize Restructure

The University of Iceland Lottery (HHÍ) is planning a 15% ticket price increase, raising the cost of an individual monthly draw ticket from ISK 2,000 to ISK 2,300, with the change targeted to take effect at year-end. Specifically, HHÍ plans to discontinue the “Million á Mann” (Million Per Person) game—previously awarding five prizes of ISK 1 million per draw—and redirect those prize funds to the “Millionaire’s Lottery”, increasing its top prize from ISK 10 million to ISK 15 million per draw (with jackpots continuing to roll over if not won).
