The Belgium National Lottery will launch the Heritage Raffle, in partnership with museumPASSmusées, Prométhéa, and IRPA–KIK. The raffle will support projects led by Belgian Federal Scientific Institutions and recognized museums in Belgium. The initiative provides for a balanced preselection across regions: a maximum of 18 projects retained, split evenly among regions, then three winners selected based on a public vote.
Each partner will play a complementary role within the Heritage Raffle. The National Lottery will lead the initiative and provide funding, ensuring a structured framework and broad visibility for the program. IRPA–KIK will contribute its scientific expertise and experience in heritage conservation and restoration. MuseumPASSmusées will bring its deep knowledge of Belgium’s museum landscape and its close connection to museums and their audiences. Prométhéa, for its part, will help mobilize the business community and the general public, strengthening bridges between philanthropy, civic engagement, and heritage.
“Prométhéa is pleased to continue its mission of mobilizing companies and the public in service of showcasing Belgian historical heritage. Thanks to the National Lottery and the Heritage Raffle, everyone will be able to take a simple step to help preserve works of art and pass this heritage on,” Prométhéa news release.
“Some countries have exceptional natural resources. In Belgium, our natural resource is our heritage. We must cherish it, restore it, study it, and pass it on. Because a treasure has value only if it sheds light on the present and illuminates the future,” says Jannie Haek, CEO of the National Lottery.
