Thursday saw global lottery and gaming products and services innovator Scientific Games Corporation congratulate the Florida Lottery after the provider managed to achieve record-breaking instant game sales last week and transfer more than $19.44 million to the southern state’s educational programs.

Las Vegas-based Scientific Games supplies games, technology and services to more than 150 lotteries around the world and revealed that more than 99% of the Florida Lottery’s total retail sales of $105.2 million for the week that ended on March 5 came from instant games products it had created.

Since 1997, Scientific Games explained that it has partnered with the Florida Lottery through its very own Cooperative Services Program to supply instant games design, programming, manufacturing, sales, marketing, warehousing, distribution and retail services to the provider’s over 13,000 retailers from a facility in Orlando. It stated that this has helped instant game sales in the state grow by more than a 77.6% over the past five years while 2016 saw the Florida Lottery notch up a fifth consecutive twelve months of record sales and bring in over $1 billion for a 15th straight year.

“The popularity of our instant games with Floridians is just phenomenal,” said Tom Delacenserie, Secretary for the Florida Lottery. “We are tracking for another year of unprecedented sales and transfers to the state’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund because of the collaboration between our teams and Scientific Games Corporation’s teams in managing our instant games portfolio.”

Scientific Games Corporation declared that it worked with the Florida Lottery to create a new $25 game, the $10,000,000 World Class Cash, which launched last week and accounted for 16.5% of total retail sales. The seven-day period to Sunday moreover saw the company’s Gold Rush family of $1, $2, $5, $10 and $20 instant games account for 33.4% of the Florida Lottery’s sales while 25 of the innovator’s scratch-off titles achieved Florida sales last week of at least $1 million.

“Tom Delacenserie has applied his strong consumer products background to Scientific Games Corporation’s global best practices when it comes to managing the Florida Lottery’s instant games,” said John Schulz, Instant Products Senior Vice-President for Scientific Games Corporation. “He truly understands how the Florida Lottery’s instant games should be marketed through a total category management approach beginning with game launch through the player’s retail experience. We congratulate the Florida Lottery on yet another record-breaking week of returns to education in Florida.”
