(Baltimore) – Maryland Lottery and Gaming Director Gordon Medenica today announced the return of Leo Mamorsky to the position of Managing Director, Chief Marketing Officer. Mamorsky returns after serving as SVP/CMO for New York Empire State Development, where he managed a multi-million dollar marketing budget to promote New York State tourism and business attraction and retention.

A veteran advertising and marketing professional with nearly 40 years of agency and client experience managing national brands, Mamorsky is no stranger to the lottery industry. During his 22-year tenure working with the New York Lottery, he was instrumental in increasing their sales from $1.6 billion to more than $7 billion, garnering him industry-wide recognition for his award-winning, integrated marketing savvy.

“We’re all looking forward to Leo’s return,” Medenica said.  “He is a consummate lottery professional and a creative powerhouse who will be key in helping us drive new and exciting advertising, marketing and product strategies.”

Since its inception in 1973, Maryland Lottery and Gaming has awarded more than $25.6 billion in prizes to Lottery players and more than $16 billion in Lottery revenue to the State of Maryland. One of Maryland’s largest revenue sources, the Lottery supports important state programs and services including education, public safety and health, human resources and the environment.
