    Lottery Brief: EuroDreams, the New Annuity Bloc Lotto

    EuroDreams is one of the biggest European lottery game launches in the past 20 years. It introduces the concept of an “annuity” lottery, catering to young players aged 18-35 who seek a future without financial dependence. FDJ will launch the new bloc lotto will on November 6, 2023, with two weekly draws on Monday and Thursday evenings. EuroDreams will be launched by all the Euromillions lotteries.


    FDJ has also won the bid to become the new operator of the Irish National Lottery, acquiring Premier Lotteries Ireland for €350 million. PLI currently holds exclusive rights to operate the Irish Lottery until 2034. The ownership structure of the Irish Lottery remains unchanged, with the transaction expected to be finalized by year-end, pending approval from the Irish National Lottery regulator.

    The California State Lottery has announced multiple tech leadership positions, including a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) responsible for managing information security and privacy policies, with a salary range of $8,591 to $11,512 and application deadline of Aug. 24. Additionally, they are seeking candidates for a Section Manager (IT Manager I) to oversee the Gaming Vendor Management Unit, with a monthly salary range of $8,591 to $11,512 and application deadline of Aug. 7, and a Senior Technical Adviser (IT Specialist III) with a salary range of $8,700 to $11,659 and application deadline of Aug. 8.


    A man from Watertown has been sentenced to six months in prison and ordered to pay $964,569 in restitution for his involvement in a lottery scam, where he and his co-conspirators claimed over $20 million in Massachusetts lottery winnings over nine years on behalf of the actual winners to avoid taxes and obtain tax refunds. Due to this case, more than 40 lottery agents’ licenses are being revoked or suspended by the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission.

    The ONE Casino + Resort in Richmond has received approval for a second casino referendum from the Virginia Lottery and the Richmond Circuit Court. The upcoming referendum, scheduled for the fall ballots, will give voters another chance to decide on the proposed casino project.
