Dale Bowersock, Scratch Ticket Coordinator at Texas Lottery, gave a rapid fire presentation on scratch ticket initiatives in Texas. He focused on holiday products, oversized tickets, pouch games, two-sided tickets, pull tab games and Spanish language only tickets.
He reviewed recent introductions for some of these new game concepts and presented upcoming scheduled innovations for fiscal 2018.
He also described the Texas Lottery’s efforts to introduce games with new prize structure models such as $5 Ultimate Millions. (It has no breakeven prizes.)
He examined the lottery’s focus on producing games which appeal to all players in a multi-cultured environment. For example, Loteria is a true Texas success story. “We also put out a Spanish-only ticket to go after a niche market. It is not going to be a top performer, but it is a market they feel like they need to go after,” said Bowersock.
