Seven Pennsylvania casinos filed a lawsuit in August 2018 that the state lottery’s iLottery games mimic slot machines in violation of the state’s gaming law. In July, the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court denied their request for a preliminary injunction to stop the Pennsylvania Lottery from selling its iLottery products. The casinos’ lawsuit still needs to be decided.
“The Pennsylvania Lottery was pleased to see the judge’s ruling. As we have said in the past, Act 42 of 2017 authorized the launch of PA iLottery and the games are being operated in accordance with the law. We are working every day to ensure the Pennsylvania Lottery continues to fulfill its mission of responsibly generating profits for senior programs. This was only one part of the litigation, the larger lawsuit continues,” said Ewa Dworakowski, Press Secretary, Pennsylvania Lottery
