The Texas Lottery kicks off its year-long 30th anniversary celebration in May 2021. The theme is “30 Years of Winning.”
“The Texas Lottery has always been stakeholder-oriented, so what better time to celebrate all of our stakeholders than our 30th anniversary,” said Ryan Mindell, Lottery Operations Director, Texas Lottery. “It starts with the summer social events. We have social events celebrating our winners, our beneficiaries, our retailers, and finally, next spring, our staff and partners. We will have public facing events at the State Fair and the Texas Lottery Plaza that everyone can join. And I hope to have a big celebration at the in person La Fleur’s 2021 Austin Conference in November for lottery staff across the country. It’s going to be a great year for the Texas Lottery and all its stakeholders.”
The lottery is planning a 30th anniversary focus for each month between May 2021 and May 2022. “Several of these months are social media-centered and will focus on a particular aspect of the Texas Lottery, like interesting historical highlights, past winners, retailers, and beneficiaries. The 30th Anniversary will highlight the return to traditional Texas Lottery events that we missed in 2020 due to the pandemic, like the State Fair of Texas, the 2021 LaFleur’s Conference in Austin and experiential sporting events. A couple of months will center primarily on Texas Lottery staff, including a focus on the agency’s Responsible Gambling efforts and a staff documentary. The year will culminate with a commemorative 30th Anniversary scratch ticket issued in April 2022 and a grand finale event in May 2022,” said Lauren Callahan, Media Relations Director, Texas Lottery.
