Kraków, Poland is the site of the 9th European Lotteries Congress (June 5-8, 2017). The Congress will be staged at the ICE Congress Centre.
Totalizator Sportowy, the Polish state lottery, will host the EL Congress in 2017. “This is the most important event of 2017 for the representatives, professionals and experts in the lottery sector,” stated Olgierd Cieslik, President of the Management Board, Totalizator Sportowy. “During the Congress we would like to cover the most pressing issues such as ways to reach new consumers—especially the opportunities given in this matter by the development of technology and media, including social media. Also, we would like to discuss the future of our traditional products in this context, and finally discuss the role that lotteries operating on regulated markets play for you and for the society. We believe, you will find the meeting in Kraków inspiring and therefore we encourage you to participate. We have booked the accommodation for you in five prestigious hotels at discounted prices. The city of Kraków is very popular in summer reaching over 3 million tourists.”
Kraków is the City of Literature—a book lover’s dream. Its Main Market Square is home to the world’s oldest bookstore; it has been operating continuously in the same location since its doors opened in 1610.
“Kraków, being on the UNESCO World Heritage List, was and still is a significant academic and intellectual centre on a European scale; the cradle of Polish language and literature; the city of the first scriptoria, libraries and printing houses in Poland; the city where masterpieces of literature were written; and, lastly, the place where the impact of the major modernism movements was the strongest. Kraków’s archives contain treasures of European writing, including a wealth of manuscripts and incunabula.”

“We had quite a few challenges in the last few years. But through portfolio management we managed to make a steady growth of stakes by increasing popularity of our games,” said Cieslik. “We have extended the scratch game offer and introduced the first Win for Life game. We are changing the way of thinking about consumers and their needs and their satisfaction from playing our games. We ended up with three years in a row for growth in sales.”
Indeed, Totalizator Sportowy is facing major breakthroughs this year. “We consider the Congress as the best opportunity for the lotteries and suppliers to share experiences and ideas and of course govern new businesses,” stated Cieslik. “We encourage you to participate in this Congress. It will be very thrilling. The Congress venue is very modern. KrakÓw is a very popular city. It has thousands of visitors coming each year. I am looking forward to meet you there.”
