NOVOMATIC Lottery Solutions (NLS) has announced the award of two major lottery contracts with European lottery organizations.
Greece: OPAP
Following a competitive procurement process, OPAP, the Greek betting and lottery group, has selected NOVOMATIC Lottery Solutions (NLS) as its new technology partner for its numerical lotteries business.
NLS will provide OPAP with its innovative and secure Omni-channel Lottery platform for all lottery games, including its popular games Kino, Tzoker and Lotto. The NLS platform will commence full operation in 2018. This process will also include the replacement of the retail system for all OPAP points of sale.
NLS will also deliver its comprehensive Player Account Management system to support all OPAP’s games in all channels, initially for digital customers and ultimately extending to OPAP’s large retail network. The contract is for an initial five-year period with the possibility of extensions.
OPAP is the leading gaming company in Greece with gross gaming revenues of 1.4 billion euros in 2015, a complete games portfolio from passive tickets to VLTs and an extensive network of 4,500 retailers. It is one of the biggest gaming organizations in the world and a trendsetter in the WLA sphere.
“We are immensely proud to have been selected by OPAP to work together on this exciting and groundbreaking transformation project. Both NLS and our parent NOVOMATIC are fully committed to professionally delivering to OPAP a full range of high-quality products and services,” said Frank Cecchini, Managing Director & CEO of NLS. “It is proof that our technical approach and solutions can fulfil the needs of even the largest and most progressive lotteries in the world.”
Commenting on the agreement, OPAP Chief Executive Officer, Damian Cope said: “We are delighted to be announcing this new partnership with NLS. This is an important step in OPAP’s priority of building a world-class portfolio of products and services for our customers. Our cooperation with NLS will be a significant contribution towards the delivery of our 2020 Vision strategy.”
Norway: Norsk Tipping
NLS also has been awarded a three-year contract with an optional one-year extension, by Norsk Tipping AS, the national lottery of Norway.
Under terms of the contract, NLS will design and manage instant games and digital versions of the Lottery’s Flax game for Norsk Tipping. Recently, NLS entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Gamevy Ltd to provide innovative new instant win games to NLS customers. The partnership will combine NLS’ market-leading lottery platform with Gamevy’s unique content and flexible development capability, to deliver authentic, customized games to Norsk Tipping.
“Norsk Tipping is a lottery that prides itself on being innovative and bold in the sophistication of our technology and products. As such, we look forward to working with NLS in the years to come,” said Åsne Havnelid, CEO, Norsk Tipping AS.
Norsk Tipping offers a wide range of lottery, sports and instant games in the Norwegian market. Since its inception in 1948, Norsk Tipping profits have successfully supported the Norwegian sport and cultural sector.
“In the next three years, possibly four, Norsk Tipping will continually select from the extensive NLS eInstant game catalogue and award-winning game portfolio of our MoU partner Gamevy, and/or receive customized games developed by NLS exclusively for Norsk Tipping,” commented Cecchini. “The content NLS will deliver will ignite and renew player excitement in the Lottery’s eInstant portfolio and interactive games because NLS is truly committed to delivering new solutions and new standards to the lottery customers we serve.”
“Together with Gamevy, NLS has a wide-ranging game library, exciting roadmaps, and the capacity to develop customized games. NLS will support the growth and diversity of the Lottery’s eInstant portfolio, making Norsk Tipping games more attractive to a wider and younger audience—focus on mobile game development is a key success factor for eInstants in Norsk Tipping. NLS, with Gamevy, will be important partners for Norsk Tipping,” added Hans Erland Ringsvold, Head of VLTs and iGaming, Norsk Tipping.
