Alchemy3’s $1M Voyage Global Collaboration Unites Lotteries

Alchemy3 and Royal Caribbean International have announced a partnership to introduce the first worldwide lottery promotion—$1,000,000 Voyage. The event provides lotteries across the world with the opportunity to join and award an amazing adventure on the newest, largest and most state-of-the art ship in the world—Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas.

“We know that lotteries worldwide have expressed an interest in working together to create a multi-jurisdiction program,” said Alchemy3 CEO Paul Guziel. “$1,000,000 Voyage provides a combination of aspirational prizing for both frequent and casual lottery players.”

The $1,000,000 Voyage promotion includes: a private island takeover at CocoCay—Royal Caribbean’s exclusive Bahamian recreation center, an exclusive concert at the Atlantis resort featuring a world-renowned mega artist, plus more than $2 million in prizes awarded throughout the voyage.

“This promotion harnesses the global power of lotteries,” explained Alchemy3 VP of Marketing & Business Development Derek Gwaltney. “Lottery directors agree that this could be a gateway to international collaboration. When we have more lotteries working toward a single goal, we can create a promotion greater than the sum of its parts.”

The $1,000,000 Voyage program works best as a scratch game product, as it allows for the greatest level of participation. However, as a white label prize, lotteries could promote $1,000,000 Voyage to support any product in their 2020 strategic plan. The experience is designed to provide maximum flexibility and consumer appeal with Alchemy3 assistance throughout the campaign.

“Like the prize itself, we try to make the program all-inclusive,” said Guziel. “This is not limited to communications, drawing and fulfillment. A program of this size requires consideration for different government rules and regulations, merchandising requirements, contracting and launch timelines. Also, flat fee pricing allows our customers to bypass obstacles that might typically prohibit them from participating.”

Media Opportunities

“There is tremendous media opportunity associated with this program,” added Gwaltney. “There are two media phases to the promotion: the game launch, which introduces the program to consumers; and the trip event, which illustrates how the world lotteries have come together to award millions of dollars in one shared vision.”

The program’s exclusivity is sure to draw additional media attention. $1,000,000 Voyage is only offered to lottery winners and their guests. So, in order to be a part of the experience, you have to play the lottery. Plus, it will be limited to fewer than 2,000 lottery players and their guests, which makes for a more exclusive seven-night adventure.

Every lottery is guaranteed one $10,000 winner. For every additional 20 trips purchased, the lottery can award another $10,000 winner. Players can customize their experience with the $4,000 spending allowance, fulfilled by Tripgift, the online travel service, which accommodates all currencies and languages.

The event also includes a schedule of tiered cash prizes, including the $1,000,000 cash prize on CocoCay. A $50,000 prize will also be awarded on the ship.

“We will give away an additional $250,000 in hourly prizes at special events throughout the program,” adds Gwaltney. “Lottery winners can also participate in our nightly on-board game show. Each night, one lucky winner will have a chance to win a top prize of $1,000,000, $50,000 or $5,000 cash or free cruise certificates provided by Royal Caribbean.”

Alchemy3 introduced the $1,000,000 Voyage concept at the World Lottery Summit (WLS) in Buenos Aries, Argentina. “For quite some time, U.S. lotteries have been interested in designing a worldwide lottery game,” said Missouri Lottery Executive Director May Scheve Reardon, who currently serves as Board President of the U.S. Multi-State Lottery Association. “$1,000,000 Voyage provides the opportunity to test the waters by bringing together multiple lotteries through a joint promotion.”

$1,000,000 Voyage promotions will launch in late 2019 and early 2020.  Winners will set sail on the voyage of a lifetime in early 2021.
