In early June, Krakow’s ICE Congress Centre became the place for key players in the European and North American lottery industry to exchange ideas.
From June 5 to 8 more than 650 lottery professionals gathered for the 9th European Lotteries Congress in Krakow to showcase their latest lottery solutions and technologies. This year’s edition was titled: “Are you Ready for New Directions?” and NLS proudly said, “Yes we are!”
NLS always does the very best so that stakeholders can expect better. The colorful NLS stand and accompanying lounge were evidence of how different and innovative the company really is. Product managers walked visitors through a seamless omni-channel player experience and introduced some flagship products such as the NLS Instant Ticket Vending Machine (ITVM) and the NLS POS Embedded in-lane solution. The eye-catching NLS EXPERIENCE LOUNGE, which drew in a large number of Congress attendees, was the ultimate place for interesting presentations.
Frank Cecchini, NLS CEO, talked about how and why NLS is different, and Pall Palsson, Director for Strategy and Innovations, explained how the leading lottery companies foster innovation. Paul Dolmann-Darrall from Gamevy spoke about the importance to be innovative in our industry, and Kambi’s Jon Hovi shared his ideas about engaging modern millennials in sports betting.
NLS is different with regard to not only technology but also company culture. In the large auditorium, Pall Palsson and Agnieszka Rylska presented Heavy Mental, the company´s annual hackathon that fosters creativity and innovation. “Our colleagues explained how this event has contributed to our company, and how many of the ideas emerging during Heavy Mental have become realities for NLS,” according to NLS.
And as Cecchini added: “At NLS we think differently, we do things differently, we listen to our staff, our customers and the marketplace in general, not just the lottery market, we actively research what is going on in the retail world to take advantage of innovation and ideas that are clearly having an impact. We take the best of these and integrate them into our system. Of course, none of this would be possible without the support of NOVOMATIC.”
